Apple said: "Safari, the best browser on any platform".
Mozilla said: "Best of 2003, Web Browser".
Firefox said: "more safely and more efficiently than with any other browser".
Maxthon: "best web browser that's out of this world"
Opera: "The safest and fastest full-featured Web browser on the market"
The only one not saying "I am the best" is Internet Explorer.
Everybody except IE claims "I am the best browser" while Internet Explorer is still leading the market share, though Mozilla-based browser use increased to 19 percent in last October and IE decreased from 88 percent to 79 percent (source).
Whoever is the best? Firefox, Safari, Mozilla, Opera, Maxthon or Internet Explorer 6?
It's hard to tell. Apple said Safari is two times faster than Mozilla and IE, but on my iBook, it takes observable more time to open Gmail in Safari than in Firefox. Firefox said it's safe, free of popup windows. That's not exclusive. Safari and Maxthon blocks popup too. So does Internet Explorer 6 after patched Windows XP Service Pack 2. Microsoft AntiSpyware can also help me defend malicious browser plug-in as Firefox does.
At least, I find Firefox is not the best browser yesterday.
Last night, I suffered a lot when filling in online visa form at https://evisaforms.state.gov/. The process is: fill in the online form, click "Continue" then it generates a PDF for you to print out. This task failed in my default browser, Internet Explorer 6. It cannot download the PDF file after submission. Dunno why and I don't have time to troubleshooting.
I changed to Firefox (Version 1.0 Preview Release). It's very weired that in Firefox I cannot select "No" for the question No.35, "Has Your U.S. Visa Ever Been Cancelled or Revoked?":

The radio buttons of question No.35 function very well in IE and Safari, but not in Firefox. In this case, Firefox is the worst one.
Last, in Safari on my iBook, I finished the form, downloaded the PDF file and printed. Safari wins the "Best Browser" in this case, since it's the only browser could finish my task. But Safari has its limitation in some other cases.
Firefox, Safari, Mozilla, Opera, though they all say "I am the best browser", we could see none of them is perfect. "The best Web browser" is just sort of propaganda to promote themselves. I am still using IE 6 by default.
